5,000 people relocated from hill slope

The Chattogram District Administration yesterday relocated around 5,000 people from Lalkhan Bazar Motijhorna hill slope to different shelters because of incessant rainfall.

They were living there putting their lives at risk, said Executive Magistrate Tahmilur Rahman. “We won't let them return as long as the rain continues.”

The shelters include Lalkhan Bazar Government Primary School and Shahid Nagar Government Primary School. According to the Met Office, rain may continue till tomorrow.
