4 arrested over RMG worker’s gang-rape

Police yesterday arrested four persons in connection with a case filed over allegedly raping a ready-made garment worker in Kathgora area of Savar on Monday night.

The arrestees are Nur Mohammad Polash, Md Sujon Shikder, Md Ferdosh and Kabir Hossen, said Javed Masud, inspector (investigation) of Ashulia Police Station, adding that another accused Abdur Razzak is on the run.

Quoting the girl, police said, around 8:30pm on Monday, the 22-year-old RMG worker was going to Kathgora area with her husband.

When they reached a bamboo grove in the area, the five accused stopped them.

They tied up her husband and then dragged the girl inside the bamboo grove.

Later, four accused allegedly gang-raped her while Razzak helped in the crime.

The girl reported the incident to the police, and on information, police conducted several drives arresting the four accused.

The girl was sent to One Stop Crisis Centre of DMCH, said the Inspector.
