3-day 'Diabetes Mela' begins tomorrow

A three-day “Diabetes Mela”, the first of its kind in the country, will begin tomorrow at Krishibid Institution Bangladesh in the capital, says a press release.

Congressia, a non-profit organisation, is going to organise the event scheduled to be inaugurated by former cultural affairs minister Asaduzzaman Noor around 2pm on the day, said organisers.

The fair will feature 14 sessions with discussions on 25 subjects. Fifty diabetes doctors will attend it. All diabetes patients and those who want to know about the details of the disease have been asked to join the event. The event is free for all.

Apart from doctors, the organisation's advisor Iftekharul Islam, Prothom Alo Editor and Publisher Matiur Rahman, Asiatic Society of Bangladesh president Mahfuza Khanam and theatre personality Mamunur Rashid will also be present at the inaugural ceremony.
