Two students of Jahangirnagar University (JU) of the 2016-17 session went on a hunger strike until death demanding completion of their third year-final examinations as soon as possible. They started the hunger strike this afternoon.

Nur Hossain of Zoology and Nayeem Sheikh of Geography and Environment department started the hunger strike around 3:30 pm in front of the registrar building, reports our Jahangirnagar University correspondent. Around 30 students expressed solidarity with the two.

"Our under-graduation degree is supposed to end in four years, but we, the students of 46th batch under the 2016-17 academic session have been in third year for almost three years. We haven't finished our third year yet," said Nur Hossain, one of the protesters.

"We sent a memorandum to the Vice-Chancellor's office demanding completion of our year-final examinations. But our demand has been refused by the administration," he added.
