172 students to get Prime Minister Gold Medal today

Prime Minister Gold Medal-2018 award ceremony under the auspices of University Grants Commission will be held today at Prime Minister's Office, says a press release.

As chief guest, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will hand over the gold medals to students.

A total of 172 students -- 84 males and 88 females from 36 universities -- who secured the highest CGPA score will be presented with gold medals.

Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni will be present as special guest while UGC Chairman Prof Kazi Shahidullah will chair the ceremony. Md Mahbub Hossain, secretary to Secondary and Higher Education Division under Ministry of Education, will deliver welcome address.

Deputy Education Minister Mohibul Hassan Chowdhury, PMO Principal Secretary Dr Ahmad Kaikaus, and UGC member Prof Md Sazzad Hossain will be present on the occasion. Besides, ministers, secretaries, former UGC chairman, its present and former members, university VCs and PMO high officials will attend.
