Sixteen Indian sailors, who had been stranded in Bangladesh due to the coronavirus outbreak, left Dhaka today on a special flight of Novoair.

Carrying the Indian sailors, the chartered flight took off from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka around 12:55pm (Bangladesh time) for Guwahati, India, an official of Novoair told The Daily Star.

It landed there at 1:18pm (Indian time), said the official.

This was the first time a direct flight operated between Dhaka to Guwahati, the capital of Assam.

Earlier, the private airlines of the country also repatriated 19 Indian sailors to Kolkata who were stranded in Bangladesh for several months.
