15th death anniversary of MA Samad

Yesterday was the 15th death anniversary of MA Samad, an influential figure in the insurance industry.

He was the founder Director of Bangladesh Insurance Academy and former Chairman of Bangladesh Insurance Association. After his retirement as Managing Director of Jiban Bima Corporation, Samad founded Bangladesh General Insurance Company Ltd (BGIC), the first private sector insurance company in the country.

MA Samad was also an author, who wrote textbooks on insurance-related topics. He was an enlisted International Expert in the Technical Assistance Program on Trade and Development of the United Nations.
