1.5km illegal gas lines snapped in Gazipur

The regional office of Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited in Gazipur yesterday cut off about 1,500 metres of illegal gas lines in Kewa Bazar area of the city, following drives on three different spots.

Manager of Titas’ Gazipur regional office Ajit Chandra Deb said a number of people got illegal gas lines to their houses for domestic use, without any permission of the authorities.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of Titas’ Gazipur office led by Executive Magistrate Fatematuz Zohra disconnected the illegal lines.

The team also sealed off the source of delivery lines, recovered pipes and seized appliances that were using the illegal connections.
