11 ‘robbers’ held in Ctg

Police yesterday arrested 11 suspected members of a robber gang during a raid in Tiger Pass area in port city.

The arrestees were identified as Md Salahuddin, 24; Md Raju, 19; Israfil Hossain Alam, 22; Akbar Hossain, 22; Md Selim, 28; Md Titu, 25; Md Yasin, 23; Fajar Ali, 35; Md Suman, 25; Md Rahim, 22; and Palash Hossain, 25, said police.

On information, a team from Kotwali Police Station conducted the drive in the area and arrested them around 6am. They were preparing to conduct a robbery, said SM Mehedi Hasan, deputy commissioner (south zone) of Chattogram Metropolitan Police.

The arrestees were active in Sitakunda and the city.
