Newborn rescued from dumpster in Ctg

A newborn was rescued from a dumpster in Ice Factory Road area under Chattogram's Sadarghat Police Station this morning.

The baby boy, who was admitted to Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH), is doing well, our Chattogram correspondent reports quoting police.

Fazlur Rahman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Sadarghat Police Station said, "Hearing the baby cry, locals spotted him in a dumpster and informed police around 11:00am."

Police immediately rescued the baby and took him to CCC Memon Maternity Hospital, he said.

After primary treatment, doctors referred the baby to CMCH for better treatment, he added.

Police were trying to identify who left the baby in the dumpster.
