New think tank to connect public with healthcare givers

A new think tank named "Health Policy Dialogue" was launched yesterday under a project of icddr,b with a view to creating a favourable environment for policy making and establishing a connection between the public and health service providers.

The think tank, comprised of scientists, academicians, development thinkers and civil society representatives, will work as a platform to bring the national health experts, policy makers and citizens together, said a press release.

On the occasion, a roundtable was held under the project titled "Strengthening Health, Applying Research Evidence (SHARE)" in the capital's Cirdap auditorium.

Eminent Gynaecologist Prof TA Chowdhury, also the chair of the think tank, presided over the discussion, where Dhaka University Professor Robaet Ferdous, Health Economics Unit Director General Asadul Islam, icddr,b Director of Communications and Change Management Catherine Spencer, and SHARE Project Director Dr Iqbal Anwar, spoke.
