Nasim seeks foreign help for boosting homeopathy

Given that there was a glaring future of homeopathy in Bangladesh, Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim yesterday solicited international support to promote research in homeopathy in the country.

Initiatives will be taken to set up a homeopathic medical university and seven degree colleges in seven divisions in the country, said the minister while addressing a conference  styled "Homeopathy: Global Scenario and International Cooperation," in New Delhi, India.

"Like India, homeopathy has eagerly been accepted in rural areas of Bangladesh…the government is also putting emphasis on it alongside allopathy," added Nasim.

Besides allopathic medicine, homeopathic one could also play a crucial part in helping Bangladesh ensure healthy lives and well-being for all, said the minister, urging those involved in this field to come forward to help the country promote homeopathic medicine and research.

At present there are two homeopathic colleges and 56 diploma medical colleges under the Bangladesh Homeopathic Board.
