Mymensingh AL council today

A council of Mymensingh district and town units of Awami League will be held on the Circuit House ground in the town today.

The event is being held after over a decade although it was supposed to be held every three years. The last one was held in 2003, said Hossain Jahangir Babu, office secretary of the district unit of AL.

Syed Ashraful Islam, general secretary of AL central committee and also minister for public administration, is due to attend the conference as the chief guest, which will be presided over by Principal Motiur Rahman, president of district AL, also minister for Religious Affairs.

Abdul Matin Sarkar, secretary of the party's district unit said different political instabilities caused the delay in holding the council.
