Mukundalal's role recalled

Mukundalal Sarker, a valiant freedom fighter and prominent leader of the anti-British movement, struggled his entire life for establishing rights of the distressed people in the society, said speakers.
They made the remarks at a memorial meeting, organised by Mukundalal Sarker Memorial Sangsad in the capital on Friday, marking the 38th death anniversary of Mukundalal.
Post and Telecommunications Secretary Shyam Sundar Sikder, Additional Secretary of ICT Division Subir Kishore Chowdhury, Additional Secretaries of Finance Ministry Arijit Chowdhury and Manik Chandra Dey, Managing Editor of BSS Shahriar Shaheed and Executive Director of Bangladesh Computer Council Swapan Kumar Sarker were, among others, present at the meeting presided over by freedom fighter Ismat Kadir Gama.
Mukundalal was born in 1909 at Dharmaryer Bari village in Muksedpur upazila of Gopalganj.
