Muggers shoot bKash agent, snatch away Tk 5 lakh

Muggers snatched away Tk 5 lakh from a bKash agent after shooting and hacking him in Shahebganj of Rangpur yesterday.

The injured Shahriar Suman, 28, of Kabjipara village under Gangachara upazila of Rangpur is undergoing treatment at Rangpur Medical College Hospital, said police.

Quoting witnesses, SM Kibria, in-charge of Dhap police outpost in Rangpur city, said five criminals on two motorcycles waylaid Suman while he was returning after collecting money form different bKash outlets.

The muggers then shot him in his throat and hacked him indiscriminately before snatching away Tk 5 lakh form him.

Locals rushed the victim to RMCH. Officer-in-Charge of Rangpur police ABM Zahidul Islam said they are trying to arrest the criminals.
