MP’s son Rony on 2-day fresh remand

A Dhaka court today placed Bakhtiar Alam Rony, son of Awami League lawmaker Pinu Khan, on a two-day fresh remand in a case filed against him in connection with the shooting and killing of two people in Dhaka’s New Eskaton area on April 14.

Metropolitan Magistrate Md Aminul Haque passed the order after Dipak Kumar Das, a sub-inspector of Detective Branch of police and also the investigation officer of the case, produced Rony before the court with a 10-day remand prayer.

Earlier in the day, Rony’s lawyer submitted a petition before the court seeking his bail and also prayed for cancellation of the remand prayer.
