Motorcyclist dies in road crash near Shaeed Minar

A youth died and another was injured in a road accident in front of the Central Shaheed Minar in Dhaka University area early today.
The deceased was identified as Subrata, 20, a resident of Dhaka's Azimpur area who passed Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) Examination from City College this year. The identity of the injured could not be known immediately.
They were rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where doctors declared Subrata dead. The injured was later shifted to Popular Hospital, police said.
The incident took place around 4:30am when the victims were coming from Bakshibazar riding a motorcycle at high speed hit the roadside island in front of the Shaheed Minar, Sub-inspector Bachchu Mia, in-charge of DMCH police outpost, told The Daily Star.
