Monno to be buried in Manikganj tomorrow

Harunur Rashid Khan Monno, a former minister and adviser to BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, will be buried in his family graveyard in Manikganj tomorrow afternoon.

He died early yesterday in Manikganj due to old-age complications at the age of 84.

His first namaz-e-janaza will be held on BNP's Nayapaltan central office premises around 10:00am today. The body will be kept there for an hour for people to pay their last homage to him.

His second namaz-e-janaza will be held at 11:00am at South Plaza of the Parliament Complex and the third one at 12:30pm on Monno Ceramics Industries Ltd's premises in Dhamrai.

Later, his body will be taken to Manikganj where four more zanaza's will be held at different times before his burial tomorrow.

The pioneering industrialist was the chairman of Monno Group of Industries, which included Monno Ceramic, Monno Jutex Industries, Monno Fabrics and Monno Attire Ltd.

The Daily Star awarded him lifetime achievement award for the year of 2017 for his contribution to Bangladesh's business sector.

He was elected a member of parliament for three times with BNP nomination. He was made minister without portfolio after he won two seats in the 2001 election.

He left behind his wife and two daughters.
