Model UN conference begins at RU

A four-day model United Nations conference began at Rajshahi University yesterday with the theme "Combating Inhumanity: Prolonging Global Peace".

Rajshahi University Model United Nations (RUMUN) organised the conference for third time at Shaheed Sukhranjan Sammadder Teachers-Students Cultural Centre where a total of 300 students from various institutions from home and abroad are taking part.

RU former vice-chancellor and also former Bangladesh high commissioner to the United Kingdom formally inaugurated the conference.

Among others, RU finance department's Prof Rustom Ali, RUMUN chief adviser and marketing department's Prof Shah Azam Shantanu, and accounting and information systems department's Prof Imran Hossain also spoke at the inaugural ceremony with RUMUN President Mohammad Sujon in the chair.
