Missing HSC examinee found dead in Rangpur

A day after the results of HSC exams were published, an unsuccessful student’s body was found in an open field in Rangpur city yesterday morning.

The 18-year-old boy -- Monowar Hossain, son of Abdul Maleq from Tatichandipara village under Khansama upazila of Dinajpur -- had been missing since the results of the exams were published on Thursday.

On informed from locals, police recovered the body from the field near Rangpur city’s Old Radio Centre area beside the Rangpur-Dinajpur highway.

The body was later handed over to his family after completing autopsy at Rangpur Medical College, said Moktarul Islam, an investigation inspector of Rangpur Sadar Police Station.

Sub-Inspector Monowar Hossain, who visited the spot, told journalists that the boy might have taken poison to commit suicide.
