Missing boy found dead in pond

The body of a minor boy, who went missing on Thursday evening, was found adrift in a pond in Akkelpur upazila of Joypurhat around 10:30pm the same day.

Deceased Md Towhid, 8, was son Abdul Alim of the upazila's Sarswatipur village.

Locals found the body in the pond around 10:30pm, said Sazzad Hossain, officer-in-charge of Akkelpur police, adding that it was sent to Joypurhat Modern Hospital for an autopsy since his parents claimed it was a murder.
