Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader, who a few days ago campaigned for the World Car Free Day, took a bus ride to his office today.

He rode a state-run double-decker BRTC bus from parliament to Jatiya Press Club in Dhaka. He boarded the bus from Assad Gate at 9:50am and reached Secretariat at 10:45am.

The minister shared plenty of photos of the bus ride from his verified Facebook account.

While talking to The Daily Star, the road transport ministry’s senior information officer said Minister Quader was satisfied with the operator services on the Uttara-Motijheel BRTC route.

However, Quader issued show cause to two officials – BRTC depot manager (Kamalapur) and Director (technical) – over allegations from the passengers received during his short bus journey.

His actions drew widespread appreciation on Facebook.
