Minister advises for road safety of all

Posts Daily Star photo as warning

The photo captured by Prabir Das was the lead of The Daily Star newspaper on Monday, February 20, 2017. It said that just yards away and an hour earlier, another man died while trying to get off the bus in a similar fashion.

State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam today urged Dhaka city dwellers to prioritise safety above all while commuting in public transportation.

With the front page lead photo of The Daily Star today, the minister posted the well-wishing message on his verified Facebook page around 9:30am.

“This is today’s lead photo in The Daily Star. It says that one person died trying to get off the bus in this manner, just yards away. Please don’t get down randomly from the bus, however the urgency may be. Use the designated bus stops and walk the remaining distance,” he said.

“There are already drivers who use headphones, talk in mobile phones and careless ones to worry about. Don’t invite a danger yourself,” his short message reads.
