Reiterating Bangladesh police’s zero-tolerance policy towards militancy and terrorism, Dhaka police chief Asaduzzaman Mia today said militancy will be uprooted from the country.

“Militants and militant-producing factories will have to be destroyed,” he said. “If we do not destroy the source, these militants will resurface in the future.”

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police commissioner was speaking at an anti-militancy view exchange programme in Dhaka. Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu was among those present there.
