Medical student found dead in Rajshahi

A medical student was found dead at her house in Rajshahi city's Baharampur Bank Colony area yesterday.

The deceased, Zannatun Wadia Mitu, 21, a third-year student of Rajshahi Dental College, was found hanging from the ceiling, said Officer-in-Charge Hafijur Rahman of Rajpara Police Station.

Mitu might have committed suicide, the OC said, adding, the autopsy report will reveal the cause of death.

Mitu was found hanging around 2:00pm in her room, said her father Motiur Rahman, principal of Baludanga Adarsha Degree College in Chapainawabganj district.

Her classmates and friends expressed deep shock saying that she was a brilliant person. It is hard to believe that she committed suicide, they added.
