Man 'kills' wife

A man allegedly kills his wife in Rangpur city on Wednesday following a family feud, said police.

The victim was identified as Zannatul Ferdous, 30 wife of Alef Udddin of Burirhat Chabbish Hazari area under Rangpur city Corporation.

Officer-in-Charge of Rangpur Sadar Police Station Babul Mia said quoting locals that Alef Uddin married Zannatul eight months ago hiding his first wife and children.

Zannatul came to know about it on Saturday while she was visiting her in laws in Rangpur, the police official said. 

The couple locked into an altercation and later Alef started beating Zannaul. At a point, when she fell unconscious on the floor, Alef tried to hang her from the ceiling so that it appears that she committed suicide.

But, on information from locals, police recovered the body and sent to Rangpur Medical College Hospital for autopsy. Alef and his family are absconding since, police said adding, injury marks were found on the body of the victim.
