Man killed over land dispute in Savar

A man was killed and seven others were injured in a clash over a land dispute at Gorat in Savar yesterday.

The deceased is Abu Taleb, 45, of the area. The injured were admitted to Enam Medical College Hospital.

Police said there had been a longstanding land dispute between Taleb and his cousin Yasuf Ali.

Yesterday, Yasuf along with his men attacked Taleb when the latter went to the land for cutting some bamboo. Hearing the news, Taleb's men went to the spot and were locked into a clash, said police, quoting locals.

Yasuf is absconding, said Ashulia police who sent the body to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
