Man killed as bus hits him

A man was killed in an accident after a bus ran him over in the capital's Ramna last night.

The deceased, Sumon, 30, a bus driver of Bihongo Paribahan, was talking over the phone when his bus stopped near the signal of Hotel Rupashi Bangla around 8:30pm.

Suddenly a mugger snatched away his phone. Taken aback, Sumon jumped out of the bus window and ran to catch him. Meanwhile, another bus hit him and Sumon died on the spot, a witness said.

Police recovered the body while another mobile phone set was found with him. Later, police informed Sumon's wife of the matter, said Anisur Rahman, sub-inspector of Ramna police.

Police said, they could not identify the “killer” bus.
