LIVE: Traffic update for Dhaka city

With several key roads of city curbed for Awami League’s grand council and university admission tests taking place simultaneously, Dhaka is expected to be chaotic today.

According to our correspondents on field, these are the latest updates of traffic:

Roads are almost empty and hundreds of people are seen waiting for transportation at Farmgate as Kazi Nazrul Islam Avenue is sealed off until 10:00am. Photo: Prabir Das

9:00am:

VIP Road is being diverted and people are advised to not take this road for the next two hours at least. 

8:55am:

8:43am: People are done waiting at Farmgate. They have started walking to their destinations across Kazi Nazrul Islam Avenue and Bangla Motor.

8:15am: Kazi Nazrul Islam Avenue is sealed off until 10:00am. Roads are almost empty and hundreds of people are seen waiting for transportation at Farmgate.
