Leave footpath or face bulldozer: Annisul

Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) mayor Annisul Huq today said that he would be compelled to use bulldozer to free the footpaths from illegal occupation.

“At first we will request the occupiers to clear footpaths and if they don't comply, we will then use bulldozer,” the DNCC mayor warned while addressing a function at Dhaka University.

Annisul said freeing the footpath from illegal occupation is a difficult job and so he would request the illegal occupiers to leave the people’s walkway across the city.

“We don’t care. We will take this out,” Annisul said at the programme jointly organised by Urban INGO Forum, Centre for Urban Resilience and Disaster Science and Management department of DU at its Senate Bhaban.
