Law to be enacted to stop realising huge amount of money

The government is going to enact new law to stop realising a huge amount of money from patients keeping them in life support at private hospitals, Health Minister Mohammed Nasim told Jatiya Sangsad yesterday.

He was replying to a call attention notice placed by opposition Jatiya Party lawmaker Nur-e-Hasna Lily Chowdhury.

In the notice, the JP MP said the hospital authorities even realise money from patients even after their deaths.

In reply, Nasim said they got several such allegations. “It’s a crime.”
