Khadem's body found inside Azimpur mosque

The body of a khadem (caretaker) of Mayor Mohammad Hanif Jame Mosque was found inside the mosque in Dhaka’s Azimpur area last night.

The body of Abu Hanif, who joined the mosque as a Khadem just two months back, was found stuffed in a sack inside an abandoned room of the mosque, Abdul Kader, a sub-inspector (SI) of Lalbagh Police Station, told The Daily Star.

The body bore stab wounds on the belly, he said adding that it has been sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) morgue for autopsy.

Four people including two other khadems have been detained for interrogation in connection with the murder, the SI added.

He might have been killed for personal rivalry, he said.
