Kazi Imtiaz new envoy to France

The government has decided to appoint Kazi Imtiaz Hossain, currently serving as the Bangladeshi high commissioner to Australia, as the next ambassador to France, said the foreign ministry yesterday.

He is replacing M Shahidul Islam, who has been appointed as the secretary general of BIMSTEC Headquarters in Dhaka.

He served as the ambassador to Thailand from 2010-2014 and as the permanent representative of Bangladesh to the UNESCAP in Bangkok. He also served in Bangladesh Missions in China, Switzerland, India and the USA in different capacities.
