Justice Bazlur Rahman dies

Justice Mohammad Bazlur Rahman, a judge of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court, died of cancer at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University yesterday. He was 61.

He left behind his wife and two sons, said Attorney General Mahbubey Alam.

President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina mourned the death, reports UNB . Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha, Law Minister Anisul Huq, SC judges and the attorney general also condoled the death.

SC's Registrar General Syed Aminul Islam said Justice Bazlur Rahman will be taken to the SC for his namaz-e-janaza at 10:30am today. 

Justice Mohammad Bazlur Rahman was elevated to the Appellate Division on February 8 last year.

He was born on Apr 12, 1955 at Puratan Bazar of Chapainawabganj.
