Jucsu polls demanded

Activists of Bangladesh Students’ Union (BSU) Jahangirnagar University (JU) unit yesterday demonstrated on the campus demanding immediate election to JU Central Students' Union (Jucsu).

Over 50 leaders and activists held a rally and then brought out a procession.

Imran Nadim, president of the unit, said no Jucsu election had been held in last 25 years. But, the authorities are taking fees from students for Jucsu every year, he added.

The demonstrators said they would continue their movement until the university authorities take any step to hold the election

Earlier, Jahangirnagar Sangskritik Jote held a concert and mass signature collection campaign demanding the election.
