JU Chhatra Front protests ragging

Samajtantrik Chhatra Front (SCF) of Jahangirnagar University (JU) unit yesterday protested harassing students on the campus in the name of ragging.

The organisation's leaders and activists formed a human chain around 11:30am and held a rally.

The protest came following at least three ragging incidents that occurred at JU dormitories. Three students were reportedly admitted to hospitals after being harassed by seniors.

Meanwhile, the university has recently circulated an announcement banning ragging on the campus. It also warns students of severe punishment, including expulsion, for ragging.

Meanwhile, a four-day "Marketing Carnival", will start on the university campus today. The programme will be hosted by the market department.
