JS session to go on till Nov 23

The ongoing eighth session of parliament will continue till November 23. The decision was taken at the Business Advisory Committee meeting at Jatiya Sangsad yesterday afternoon with Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair.

The meeting empowered the Speaker having the authority to bring change in the duration of the session.

The session began around 4:32pm.  At the outset of the first sitting, the Speaker nominated a five-member panel of chairmen to preside over the sessions in the absence of the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker. The panel chairmen are Prof Ali Ashraf, Abu Zahir, Talukder M Yunus, Fakhrul Imam and Selina Begum. They will conduct the session according to seniority.
