Journo leaders want BFUJ polls

Journalist leaders claimed that the Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) election has been halted as part of a conspiracy.

Jalil-Kajal-Modhu parishad organised the press conference at Jatiya Press Club in the capital yesterday demanding BFUJ election without delay.

The election was scheduled to take place on July 6 but was postponed following a stay order issued by the labour court, after two candidates filed a writ petition.

The election commission notified the candidates about the incident on July 5.

Abdul Jalil Bhuyia, a president candidate, said the election must take place as everyone is waiting for it with enthusiasm.
