JMB men rented his house as cloth traders

Landlord testifies at Rangpur court

JMB members rented his house in Rangpur city identifying themselves as cloth traders five months before Japanese national Kunio Hoshi was murdered, said the landlord in his testimony at a court yesterday.

Of them, Abdul Aziz identified five charge-sheeted accused -- Masud Rana, Ishak Ali, Shakhawat Hossain, Liton Mia and Abu Sayeed who were produced before the Rangpur court, said Rathish Chandra, special public prosecutor.

According the deposition, two of them used to drive battery-run three-wheelers, he said.

Abdul Aziz testified that two women, introducing themselves as wives of Saddam Hossain and Shakhawat Hossain, also lived with their children at his house, said Rathish.

He, however, as per his statement, could not understand anything about their activities of the banned militant outfit, the court sources said.

With Abdul Aziz, the court recorded testimonies of 17 persons so far, which will start again on Sunday and continue still February 5, the sources said.

Some unidentified assailants shot dead Kunio Hoshi on October 3, 2015 at Aluwari village. Later, a murder case was filed.
