Jasas leader goes ‘missing’ in Sylhet

A leader of Jatiyatabadi Samajik Sangskritik Sangstha (Jasas), the cultural wing of BNP, has allegedly been missing for three days.

The missing leader is Sultan Ahmed, joint general secretary of Jakiganj upazila of Jasas.

His brother Nazim Uddin claimed that they received an SMS, “save me brother”, from Sultan's mobile phone on Sunday night. Later, his phone was found switched off around 11:30pm, said Nazim.

On Monday morning, Sultan also made a call to him saying, “I don't know where I am now. Several masked miscreants picked me up in a vehicle, said Nazim.

Later on, the phone was found switched off again, he added.

A general diary (GD) was filed with Jakiganj Police Station, said Sub-inspector Syed Imrose Tarek.
