IUB 10th globally in University Rover Challenge

The team of Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) secured the first position among all Bangladeshi participating universities in University Rover Challenge (URC).

It also became second in Asia and 10th globally in the competition held in southern Utah in the US, said a press release.

URC challenges student teams to design and build the next generation of Mars rovers that will one day work alongside astronauts exploring the Red Planet. It featured an elite field of teams vying to build the world's best student-designed Mars rovers.

A record 82 teams from 13 countries participated in the competition this year. Thirty six teams were invited to the field competition.

The team from the Missouri University of Science and Technology became the first team from the US to win the URC.
