Indian envoy visits Ramakrishna Mission

Expresses satisfaction over the security

Indian High Commissioner Harsh Vardhan Shringla today visited Ramakrishna Mission in Dhaka and expressed his satisfaction over the security provided there by the government.

His visit came in the wake of the threat issued to a priest of Ramakrishna Mission recently.

India has expressed gratitude to the government of Bangladesh for strengthening security at the mission.

The country also conveyed the message about its readiness to extend any type of cooperation in countering terrorism if Bangladesh wants, said Harsh Vardhan Shringla while talking to journalists during his visit to the mission this afternoon.

Asked about the security of the Ramakrishna Mission in Dhaka, he said the Bangladesh authorities are not only capable of providing security of Ramakrishna Mission in Dhaka, but also quite able to provide security of all people in all the 40 Ramakrishna Missions in Bangladesh.

“We have the confidence on the Bangladesh authorities,” he said and added that, “we are grateful to the authorities as police and Bangladesh government has taken up steps immediately after the death threat.

“We are satisfied with the measures taken to contain the situation,” the Indian envoy said.

High Commissioner Shringla informed that the officials of the High Commission of India in Dhaka are in constant touch with the Ramakrishna Mission authorities and Bangladesh government since the death threat.

The envoy was accompanied by First Secretary (Political & Information) Rajesh Uike, First Secretary (Consular) Ramakant Gupta and Press Attaché Ranjan Mondal.
