HC stays DU teacher's suspension

The High Court yesterday stayed the suspension of Prof Md Reazul Haque of Dhaka University for six months clearing the way for him to discharge his duties.

The HC issued the order and rule following a writ petition filed by Reazul, teacher of the department of development studies. Reazul, was suspended following allegations of showing “obscene materials” in one of his classes.

Yesterday Reazul's lawyer Jyotirmoy Barua told The Daily Star that there is no legal bar for his client to join the office following the HC order.
