Good days ahead for sugarcane growers
Says BSFIC chairman
The sugarcane growers would have good days ahead as the government has taken plans to recast and modernise the country's sugar mills through building necessary infrastructures and adopting latest technologies.
"The sugarcane growers will get fair price of their produce after few hours on the same date of supply…," said Chairman of Bangladesh Sugar and Food Industries Corporation (BSFIC) AKM Delwar Hossain.
He was addressing the launching ceremony of the 2016-2017 sugarcane plantation season of Panchagarh Sugar Mills Ltd in Kazipara village Thursday as chief guest, official sources said yesterday. He said the growers would get information through SMS before commencement of the sugarcane crushing season and date of supplying their harvest to the sugar mills.
"The government will provide more training to growers, further increase sugarcane price and enhance subsidies…," he said.
