Girl abducted by stalker in Jessore

A schoolgirl was allegedly abducted by her stalker from her residence in Jessore Sadar on Thursday night.

Family members said Rafiqul Islam, of Maheshpur upazila and a relative, used to come to their residence and propose to the girl, a class-X student, which she refused.

On Thursday Rafiqul along with his friends forcefully picked her up around 8:00pm when she was alone in her room. Later, following a case filed by the victim's mother, police arrested a friend of Rafiqul in this connection yesterday, said Kotwali police.
