Fruit vendor killed in Sunamganj

A fruit seller was killed allegedly by a group of restaurant workers in Chhatak upazila of Sunamganj yesterday.

The deceased was Manjil Miah, 35, of Dighli Chakalpara village in the upazila.

Witnesses said following an altercation over an issue some workers of a local restaurant beat up Manjil injuring him severely. Manjil was rushed to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital where he died.

Police said no injuries have been found on Manjil's body. Locals caught one of the restaurant workers -- Delwar Hossain, 22, -- and handed him over to police.
