Four Pabna forest officers sued over misappropriating Tk 17.5 lakh

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed three cases against three divisional forest officers and a forest ranger with Pablna police on Thursday for misappropriating Tk 17.51 lakh.

During 2009 to 2013, different forest officers of Pabna division -- Ajit Kumar Rudra, Md Sayed Ali and Md Harunur Rashid -- along with forest ranger Md Mokhlesur Rahman misappropriated the government fund allocated for Gaznaar Bill Development Project.

The accused were found guilty of misappropriating the money by not conducting the forestation programme properly, said Sheikh Golam Moula, assistant director of ACC, Pabna.
