Found unconscious, DU student declared dead at DMCH

A resident student of Jagannath Hall of Dhaka University, who was found unconscious at his dormitory this morning, has been declared dead at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

The deceased was identified as Apu Sarker, 20, a second year student at accounting department, said Abu Bakar Siddique, officer-in-charge of Shahbagh Police Station.

Around 8:00am, Apu’s roommate, Ratan Kirtaneya, found him lying on his bed unconscious. He called Apu several times but received no response. Later, he took him to DMCH where the duty doctor declared him dead around 8:30, said the OC.

The reason behind the death could not be known immediately, the OC said adding that the body was kept at the morgue, the OC added.
