Foreign minister hopes for Bimstec boost

Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali has expressed the hope that the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (Bimstec) would get a boost as all members are now showing keen interests in its process.

He was meeting with outgoing Bimstec Secretary General Sumith Nakandala who paid a farewell call on him in Dhaka yesterday.

Nakandala highly praised Bangladesh government for all-out support in smooth function and operation of the secretariat established in Bangladesh in 2014.
