Foam godown catches fire in Dhaka

A fire broke out at the godown of a foam factory in Bhatara area of Dhaka this evening.

The fire incepted at the tin-shed warehouse in Syednagar area around 6:30pm, Kamruzzaan, officer-in-charge (OC) of Bhatara Police Station, told the Daily Star.

On information, four units of firefighters rushed to the spot and were working to douse the blaze till filing of this report around 7:15pm, he said.

A tension created among residents of a slum adjacent to the factory fearing that the flame may engulf the slum, the OC added.  

The reason behind the fire could not be known immediately.
